BIGTHANK YOU to the very talented Vicki Knights Photography for my new professional Head shots! Not often (okay, hardly ever!) I’m on the other side of the camera, but Vicki made me very relaxed and obviously giggling loads!

Last week Friday I had the pleasure to do a ‘Couples Maternity Session’ for the lovely Deakins from Berkshire, 37 weeks pregnant with their first baby. (Just in time too, as their bundle of joy arrived two days later on Sunday!).
I will soon be doing their Newborn Session too, so look out for both their sessions coming to my blog soon!

I’m very excited to share some of Deirdre & Ian’s engagement session with you! This lovely, super fun couple met at Salsa class, so naturally I wanted to incorporate a bit of sexy Salsa into their session, but with a beautiful vintage-romance feel.
It was the perfect sunset one May evening in Wokingham, Berkshire. The gorgeous couple (although I’m told they’ve never had a professional photo session) were naturals at this! A session filled with dancing, laughter, more dancing and many special moments. It was a beautiful session… Perfect!
I’m very much looking forward to being their wedding photographer in August! So.Much.Fun.!
On Friday we found out the gender, but I really wanted to break the exciting news to my 4.5yr old son in a special way… as I only had (less than) 24hrs to arrange something special and to capture the moment he finds out, I had to go with an impromptu DIY session – there was just no time to book another photographer on such short notice 😦
I really wanted to use coloured smoke bombs, but couldn’t find any in time, so had to improvise with another idea or two instead. I sent hubby to find me a box in the garage, printed off a ‘Brother or Sister?’ sign and stuck it onto the box. (I was dying to tell my son when I collected him from school on Friday, but had to keep it in as I needed to get more stuff so could only tell him the next morning!)
Saturday morning, whilst hubby took my little man for his swimming lesson, I popped over to our local printers to have a chalkboard sign I designed, printed off in super-speedy time! (If you are local to Andover, you can always count on Mark at Cartridge and Printing World to help out!)
I also discovered the most amazing little balloon and party shop, Tip Top Balloons in Andover. The the friendliest staff, warmest welcome and most beautiful, high quality balloons I’ve come across! (If you haven’t guessed it – I highly recommend them!) The only shame was, my tatty old box was way too small for these lovely big balloons, and I unfortunately had to deflate them quite a bit at home to fit into this sad looking box! haha
After my son’s swimming lesson, we headed off to a local area within my local community (no time driving to a nicer location as hubby was on a nightshift so only had another 15mins to spare before he needed to go to sleep!) where we placed the box for my son to open. It was very chilly and very windy, but I think we managed to surprise him and get some lovely images to treasure! Even of us as a little family (which is rare) with the help of a tripod. My son was soooo super chuffed when he saw the colour of the balloons! And he is very excited that he will have a little Sister soon!
This was our little impromptu DIY Gender Reveal Session:
